Abstract

The Sunnah of the Prophet highlights and emphasizes the principle of moderation. This is evident in the numerous hadiths that advocate for moderation and balance, demonstrating the flexibility and tolerance of Islam in its laws. Additionally, the practical aspect of the Prophet's teachings and his guidance to his companions also exemplify this approach. On the contrary, the Messenger, may God's blessings and peace be upon him, actively opposed any form of behavior that deviated from the principles of balance and moderation. He strongly discouraged extremist ideologies, radical actions, excessive strictness, and any deviation from the path of moderation. Instead, he consistently emphasized the importance of maintaining a balanced approach in both words and actions. This emphasis on moderation stems from the concept of justice, which serves as a mediator between two extremes. By adopting a moderate stance, Messenger was able to effectively address any excessive or deficient behaviors, as it is widely recognized that extremes, whether in abundance or scarcity, can lead to negative consequences. Therefore, the Messenger consistently advocated for the preservation of moderation in order to maintain harmony and equilibrium.
