Dialectic Conflict between Sharia, Philosophy and History: A study in the Philosophy of Abi Hayyan Al-Tawhidi through His book Al-Amtaa wa Al-Moanasah
Main Article Content
Abstract
The period of the caliph al-Ma'mun and after witnessed intellectual developments, especially when Muslim thinkers were influenced by the Greek culture, and scholars of Islamic law faced questions they were not familiar with, especially those related to the divine being ethnographic societies. Abu Hayyan al-Tawhidi is considered one of the most prominent Muslim thinkers looking forward to (certainty) through his emphasis on the need to highlight the causality (causality) of all the intellectual propositions he deals with The research sheds light on three levels; the first, is the doctrinal aspect, the second, the historical aspect, and the third, the social aspect. On the doctrinal side, the Islamic faith was exposed to the questions of the philosophers and their belief in logic, and they considered their approach to be the one that leads to certainty. Then the Sharia scholars rushed to respond with text and evidence.
On the historical side, Abu Hayyan called for searching for the mysterious, inward and outward causes of the historical event. The historical event, in his opinion, involves an introduction and a consequence, and in this he presents his thesis in the philosophy of social history, recording the precedence over other historians and thinkers in the necessity of following the scientific method in ascertaining the facts of things. And in the social aspect, which involves two parts: in the instinct that Allah created people. The second part deals with the refinement of behavior.
