Evaluation of the Impact of Natural Phenomena on Road Tracks and Vehicle Movement on Road Transport Networks in Nineveh Governorate

Abstract
Natural phenomena represent the backbone of all aspects of the economic, social and urban activities of the population, as well as their impact on the spatial distribution of human settlements in the regions, and determinants of urban expansion of cities and different land uses.As a result of the spatial distribution of the forms of natural phenomena in Nineveh Governorate, according to their ability to influence social and economic activities, the parts of the province varied in terms of the spread of human settlements and the practice of agricultural, industrial and service activities which resulted in a discrepancy in the different densities of the road transport routes, which are the link between its settlements and the factor also influencing its geographical distribution and the economic and social activities of its residents, and for the importance of studying these phenomena and their impact on the extensions of transport networks in the governorate, it was required to study and analyze this phenomenon in the governorate and use it to advance the wheel of development Economic, social and urban in the province forward.The research ended with important results by analyzing the spatial relationship between the natural geographic factors and the extension of the road network, which showed the existence of strong correlations between the two phenomena, and these results serve those concerned with regional planning affairs when developing structural plans for the governorate.
