The relationship between the frequency of the Mediterranean depression and the amounts of rain falling on northern Iraq during the period (2006-2014)
Main Article Content
Abstract
This research deals with studying the correlation between the frequency of the Mediterranean depression and precipitation quantity by studying the data of the period (2006 – 2014) and its clearly obserred that : the Mediterranean depression has an inverse relationship between frequency and quantity , where the value of the correlation coefficient of mosal station was reached (-5,487) in autumn , (5,624) in winter , and (5,528) in spring , which is intamgible value . As for as the kirkuk station , it was reached (-5,522) in autumn , (-5,289) in winter and (5,618) in spring , which is intangible value . While in Tikrit station , it was reached (5,193) in the autumn , (5,297) in winter and (5,171) in spring , which also intangible value.Based on finding and discssion, it can be concluded that , the increase of depressions do not affect the precipitation quantity as the greater the depression , as the less the precipitation quantity in the stations during that time period.
