Air Pollution in the City of Baghdad (Al-Rusafa) after 2003 AD: Causes and Solutions

Abstract
The city of Baghdad is considered one of the cities with a large population, where the population of the city of Baghdad in (2016) reached about (8.5) (1) million people, which makes it the largest city in Iraq in terms of population, and as the capital, it contains many industrial, services and commercial activities, which in turn contribute to the increase in the percentage of pollutants that change the air composition of the city of Baghdad, this study came to shed light on the pollution of the study area by some vehicles and gases that are emitted from several sources that were clarified during the research. The readings and recorded data from three monitoring stations were analyzed. In Baghdad, which is (Al-Waziriyah - Andalusia - south of Baghdad) and for the elements (hydrocarbons NMHC, carbon monoxide Co, nitrogen oxide, NO2, ozone, O3, sulfur dioxide, So2), in addition to (suspended particles PM10), it also included The study made a comparison between the number of cars before and after (2003) in order to know the volume of pollutants caused by the increase in the number of cars after the year 2003.
