Centers of intellectual formation for women in the Arab Islamic Civilization
Main Article Content
Abstract
Women in the Arab Islamic civilization made an exceptional effort to create a society that possesses the forefront of knowledge, as they formed an activity that other civilizations prior to or later Islam had not witnessed like it, and on which the scientific centers that were their starting point since the first years of the founding of the Arab Islamic state in Medina must be focused on.
Mosques not only embraced men, but women had a distinguished presence, so that the Messenger(May Allah’s prayers and peace be upon him) set aside a day for them to take knowledge, legislation and matters of their religion, and this became a tradition for the ages that came later, and they were not satisfied with the mosques alone, but participated in schools, connections and other places that enable them to learning and education.
Upon seeing the large numbers of women leaders who participated in teaching in schools, linking and mosques, we can say that they took a pioneering role in spreading science and knowledge throughout the Arab Islamic state, and there is no doubt that these scientific centers were first to encourage Islamic law and then confirm caliphs, leaders and oversight. As a result, the Arab Islamic civilization was a forerunner in liberating women and giving them their right to actively participate in the renaissance and advancement.
