A Geopolitical Analysis of Iraqi-Turkish Relations after 2003

Abstract
Turkey is one of the main regional powers influencing Iraqi political reality after 2003. Moreover, the intertwined geographical ties between the two countries, such as the common borders and water resources, as well as being the main outlet for the export of Iraqi oil, so the Iraqi decision-maker was keen to improve this relations with Turkey, especially as it fears the features of the new political system in Iraq, especially the federalism that divides the state, which will negatively affect Turkish national security. In addition, Turkey is taking advantage of Iraq's need to maximize its gains at the expense of the Iraqi people, which has pushed to deal cautiously with it and in the interests of the state.
