Abstract

The Gharib irrigation project is considered one of the projects that have a great role in the region due to the availability of water on which agricultural and economic activities depend. The geographer, together with others, contributes a great role in studying water resources and determining the problems resulting from their decrease and fluctuation from year to year and this is related to how to plan to invest them through the establishment of projects Controlling, storing and maintaining irrigation channels and streams as well as adopting the methods and methods used in appropriate irrigation in order to preserve the largest amount of water and use it in various fields of life, as the decrease in water levels and the rates of water drainage will stand in front of plans for economic development, which are negatively reflected in the shrinking of agricultural areas and the lack of Crops and thus exposes the economy to deterioration in exchange for an increase in the population, so it is necessary to exploit water and reduce water waste, which depend on accurate knowledge of the basic water needs of agricultural crops and this knowledge is the basis of the agricultural sector, as the shortage of water in the summer and the increase in the winter during the seasons of the year.
