Abstract

The research is interested in studying and revealing the systemic implicit behind the novelistic discourse of the contemporary Jordanian writer, Muhammad Rafi, according to the perspective of cultural criticism, as it is an aesthetic and cultural material. In his text, there is a cultural pun that apparently relates to a state of betrayal and astonishment that afflicts the reader, because he is shocked by a society that is far from humanity, not to mention the violation of the values, morals and principles on which the Arab individual was brought up in the East. The events of the novel receded, starting with Egypt, Jordan, Baghdad, and then Turkey, to eventually settle in America. The researcher made every effort to expose the cultural patterns present in the novel to be more clear, and all of this needed a cultural reading with a precise and broad level of knowledge of the culture of the text studied in its various aspects.
