Main Article Content
Abstract
The historical background of the family of François Gisot, as he belongs to a Protestant family with fixed and strict principles, affected his intellectual and practical life, especially after the execution of his father, but he succeeded in reaching the stage of creativity, excellence and intellectual openness of all religions and cultures through his writings, which are still taught in the most important universities and are considered reference for the most important historians, leaders, and politicians, but this superiority was dominated by the criticism of the French street because of his political activity after his entry into the political fray, especially after his participation in the July Revolution of 1830, which brought the monarchy of July, headed by King Philip I, who became one of its most important advocates and supporters, and even became a tool for consolidating and defending its rule and if those interests conflicted with the will of the French people, which led to his rejection by the street, and eventually he was forced to submit his resignation in 1848 and his retirement from political work forever, but his intellectual talent continued with him until his death, which enriched the historical library with books that had a great impact on historians of the modern era.
