Abstract

Paying attention to the segment of retirees is a matter imposed by the circumstances of society and its pursuit of development. Many countries have developed programs that guarantee this segment a decent life. In Iraq, retirees suffer from clear neglect that has led to the emergence of many problems among this segment of the population, and these problems will inevitably worsen. Especially after lowering the age recently retired to (60) years instead of (63) years.In Salah al-Din Governorate, retired residents suffer from economic conditions that are not appropriate for their age and for the services they provided to society, which necessitated identifying their sizes and economic conditions. And livelihood to reach some proposals that ease the burden of this segment.The study is nothing but an attempt to shed light on an important segment of society in the governorate, represented by former employees who provided great services in their work sites. The importance of the study is evident in that it shows important facts about the retired population in terms of their spatial distribution according to their monthly income and their work after retirement. In addition to their distribution according to housing ownership and their living standards, which are important indicators that deserve attention and attention.This is due to its connection to the characteristics of the economic study area. This study required the use of a number of research methods Scientific methods represented by using the descriptive approach, which relies on collecting facts and data about the phenomenon and determining its temporal and spatial characteristics, studies the phenomenon as it is in reality and describes it. An accurate description, as well as the use of the analytical method. In order to analyze the results of the study, a set of statistical methods were relied upon to analyze the phenomenon that is the subject of the study. Standard scores were also used as a statistical method and an appropriate classification technique to show the spatial variation in the distribution of the phenomenon, as well as (10.3 Arc Gis) drawing shapes and (Excel)) relying on the two programs, To draw maps and represent geographical phenomena on them.The study showed that the percentage of the retired population of Their monthly income level of less than (500) thousand dinars per month reached (44.4%) of the total retirees of the study sample, and thus they rank first among all other income levels. The study also showed that the majority of the retired population owns housing units, constituting (79%) of the total size of the research sample.
