Abstract

The Maturidian school and the Ash'ari school are two schools of the sayings of the Sunnis and the community, in addition to the School of the People of the Text whose curricula form the total doctrine of the Sunnis, each school is distinguished by its sayings and its own curricula in the study of theology, so the school of Maturidism was characterised of being an intellectual and literal textual character, like the Ash'ari methodology, but it was distinguished by its tendency to more rational and intellectual evidence compared to the Ash'ari school. But, this did not prevent its ideological positions based on the Qur’an and Sunnah in the first place. In this research, the researcher will shed light on the most important of these ideological positions of the school.
