Main Article Content
Abstract
Abu Muhammad Abdullah Jamal al-Din bin Yusuf bin Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Hisham al-Ansari al-Masri, who passed away in 761 AH, was a highly significant grammarian in Egypt. The writer in question has a significant amount of works, including a collection of works referred to as abbreviations. The three aspects in question are the rules of syntax, the diameter of the dew and sound, and the golden leaves. The objective of utilizing these abbreviations is to facilitate the learning of grammar through a simplified and accessible approach. The objective of this study is to identify the distinguishing features and characteristics of Ibn Hisham's grammatical abbreviations. These abbreviations suggest that the author was not solely a scientific researcher pursuing grammatical research for his own benefit, but rather a scholar who also fulfilled the role of a teacher. As such, he condensed his works to facilitate the collection of information by his students. The objective of this study is to determine the level of importance given by Ibn Hisham to fundamental principles of grammar, including its abbreviation, the division of its grammatical topics, and its definitions. Additionally, the study aims to identify any shortcomings in the abbreviation of grammar, particularly in relation to the second and third persons. Furthermore, the study seeks to explore the nuances of grammatical differences and details, and how they can be represented through grammatical evidence and examples. The purpose of this is to facilitate the reception of information through a text authored by the writer.
