Hydroclimatic assessment of the Darat Ziwa basin using modern techniques

Abstract
The study is summarized in the quantitative evaluation of the surface runoff in the Darat Ziwa basin using the (SCS-CN) technique by applying the equation for extracting the surface runoff ratio scs by means of satellite data and the analysis of the digital elevation model DEM by employing geographic information systems software to know the hydrological characteristics of the basin and its large area (158.5) km2 Which is located in the northeastern part of the province of Sulaymaniyah, as the current study relied on the rainstorm in estimating the volume of surface runoff of the basin within the hourly period of the storm (0.012 h), and the runoff speed reached (10,000) m2/s, and the concentration time was (5,856) minutes. . Where the concentration time (CN) reached a value of (81) in the (Darah Ziwa) basin, and this shows us that the volume of runoff in the basin as a result of (CN) is characterized by a low permeability, and that the largest value reached its area in the basin by (602,749) m2 with a rate of (38.013)% Of the total area of the basin, where it was found after applying the (CN) values in the study basin with low permeability and a high runoff rate.
