Abstract

The Abbasid period experienced the greatest cultural renaissance in the history of Arab-Islamic civilization with an influence on different cultures including: Persian, Indian and Greek cultures as well as their translation and fusion with Arab culture constituting the melting pot of the Arab-Muslim civilization. It constituted a new civilization for those cultures. Poetry has been influenced by this renaissance and has experienced a remarkable development in many aspects.Among the results of this literary renaissance, there is "Le recueil d'AL-Hamassiya”, one of the splendors of our literary heritage, which distinguishes itself from others by its values, the pleasure and the interest of its contents, its linguistic, the artistic and historical richness, and the ideas it generates. Hence the subject of this research, which revolves around the spirit of Hamassiya, its artistic and aesthetic participation in the efforts made to serve this heritage. Our modest contribution is to reveal the hidden aspect of this literature and its different outlines.This work aims at probing certain aspects of the development and renewal of Arab poetry. As the author of the collection Abu Tammâm is a unique and singular icon in his style and imagination, he inspired many of his successors with his style, imagination and creativity.In addition to the introduction and the conclusion, this research is articulated around three essential points namely the definition of the poetry of Abu Tammâm, the presentation of the historical value of the enthusiasm and the highlighting of the artistic role of Hamassiya, by placing particular emphasis on linguistic, rhetorical, aesthetic, emotional and musical values.We have used the analytical and descriptive approach when studying the texts, with reference to the historical method and relying, to some extent, constituting the most complete approach for this type of study.
