Abstract

Desert Levant Arab region attracted the attention of historians and travelers because of the historical events that it witnessed, as it was the scene of many island migrations throughout history. It left distinctive cultural imprints on the history of the region and clearly affected the architectural heritage of religious architecture in the first half of the first millennium AD during the spread of Christianity as a heavenly religion different from what it was in the pagan religion in the region. However, if the region did not receive sufficient attention by architectural researchers in a way that parallels the prestige and abundance of its religious architecture, including the churches that left their mark in shaping the prevailing style of church architecture even after the Islamic conquest as a special feature of Christian churches to monitor architecture. Hence, this type of research was diagnosed with this need During this important era accompanying the rule of the Sassanids and the Romans, who deliberately divided the region between them in order to establish a barrier between them and the Arab tribes that inhabited the region and at the same time constituted a military boundary preventing the progress of any of the two countries towards the other so that countries appeared in the Levant and the State of Manathira in southern Iraq with its capital (Al-Hirah), which condemns Its loyalty to the Sassanids, by their financial and moral support to the cities as desert stations, commercial centers and military garrisons to collect taxes, including the city of Umm al-Jamal, which owes its allegiance to the Romans, to be chosen for its proximity to al-Hira, as they are linked by trade routes and economic interests and inhabited by the same Arab tribes .
