الملخص
عندما تولى آل بوسعيد الحكم في عمان استطاعوا ان يحققوا الكثير من الانجازات لاسيما بناء اسطول بحري وتطويره للأغراض العسكرية والتجارية، واصبحت عمان في عهدهم يحسب لها حساب على الصعيد الدولي والاقليمي، وعند استلامهم السلطة كانت البلاد تعاني من تدهور كبير على المستوى الاقتصادي ولاسيما التجارة، فسعوا الى اعادة هيبة التجارة الخارجية ببناء الاسطول البحري الذي تعرض للإهمال خلال محنة الحرب الاهلية والغزو الخارجي، اذ استطاعوا خلال مدة قصيرة ان يحققوا استقرارا في المنطقة وازدهار تجاريا سواء على المستوى الداخلي او الخارجي، واصبح الاسطول العماني خلال النصف الاول من القرن التاسع عشر في المرتبة الثانية بعد الاسطول البريطاني , وتوسع دائرة نفوذ عمان على حساب القوى الاقليمية والدولية، ومساهمتها بشكل فعال في الازدهار والتقدم الاقتصادي لاسيما على مستوى التجارة، والذي تمتعت به عمان ودورها في المحافظة على مكانتها بين الدول.
