Abstract

This study examines the impact of using fun learning methods on developing internet and search engines skills among second intermediate students at Al-Rumaila Intermediate School for Boys. This study responds to the growing need to develop interactive teaching methods that help improve students' effective and confident use of modern technologies. The study aimed to measure the impact of fun learning methods on developing internet search skills by comparing the performance of the experimental group, which underwent an interactive learning experience, with the control group, which learned using the traditional method. It also sought to identify statistical differences between the two groups and assess the extent to which students perceived the impact of these methods on their skills. The study used a quasi-experimental approach, and the sample consisted of (50) students divided into two equal groups: (25) students in the experimental group and (25) students in the control group. A pre-test and a post-test were conducted to measure the level of skills. The data were analyzed using appropriate statistical methods, including the t-test for two independent samples and analysis of variance, to examine the differences between the two groups. The results showed statistically significant differences in favor of the experimental group in the targeted digital skills. Students in the experimental group also expressed their great appreciation for the immersive learning experience, noting its effectiveness in developing their skills in using the internet and search engines accurately and quickly. The study recommends integrating immersive learning methods into curricula, particularly in subjects that target technological and research skills, given their positive impact on interaction, academic performance, and applied skills.
