The Role of Positive Thinking in Promoting Sustainable Prevention of Drug Abuse A Psychological Approach to Fostering Awareness and Healthy Adaptation
Main Article Content
Abstract
The present research paper aims to highlight positive thinking as an alternative and effective psychological approach to strengthening sustainable prevention efforts against drug abuse, particularly among adolescents. Within this framework, the paper emphasizes the core concepts and principles of positive thinking as a psychological strategy that contributes to the development of psychological resilience and the promotion of healthy adaptation—going beyond the conventional methods employed in awareness campaigns. The study seeks to analyze the preventive potential of this approach by exploring how positive thinking may shape adolescents’ mindsets and direct their energy and talents toward constructive goals, thereby improving their psychological and behavioral quality of life. Moreover, the paper presents scientific arguments supporting the integration of this approach within addiction prevention strategies, by fostering a new psychological awareness rooted in the development of internal resources and cognitive-emotional competencies. Accordingly, the study aims to offer a comprehensive theoretical model that underscores the importance of positive thinking as a complementary tool to traditional programs, while highlighting the need to reorient preventive policies toward more holistic and sustainable frameworks—through a psychological perspective grounded in awareness-building and healthy adaptation.
