Abstract

Thabit ibn Qurra is considered one of the most important scholars in the third century AH, he is considered the main pillar of the prosperity witnessed in the fourth and fifth centuries AH. He excelled in all fields, especially scientific ones, and was truly the pride of his time. Therefore, the status and admiration he received from the Abbasid caliphs did not come out of nowhere, but rather due to the enormous amount of knowledge he had in his bag, which gradually brought him closer until he became a regular in their councils and the personal physician of a number of their caliphs. Thabit did not only enrich us with science, but he also enriched us with a family that had a long history in science, the most important of whom was Sinan ibn Thabit, whose fame and status spread, as well as Thabit ibn Sinan ibn Thabit and other scholars who had great imprints in the field of science. Although Thabit ibn Qurra was famous as a doctor in general, his greatest achievements were in the fields of astronomy, engineering, translation, transportation, and many other sciences. .
