Abstract

After the science of music began aiming for objectivity and eliminating contemplative and emotional restrictions in music analysis and study, interest in studying and researching the musical arts and methods of codifying accomplished instruments preserved the musical heritage from loss and made it accessible to any generation. Ancient Arabic musical instruments like the Oud may have been Sumerian. It was part of interpreting musical history objectively and fostering musical awareness and reframing the relevance of particular instruments, notably antique stringed instruments. The Iraqi international Oud player, Munir Bashir, plays a Mesopotamian instrument with a powerful musical message. After finding a fruitful subject for study and inspection, the researcher began his methodological framework by describing his research issue, need, significance, aims, and terminology. Within the theoretical framework the researcher includes three topics: Munir Bashir's life, knowledge, and musical skill development, as well as two axes: his life and knowledge and his experience and creative tours. The researcher examined a model (one of Munir Bashir's compositions) that is a sample of the Al-Hazam position (improvisation in the Al-Hazam position) for musical analysis in the third chapter. Critiques on Munir Bashir's musical experience were included. In the fourth chapter, the researcher incorporated study findings, conclusions, recommendations, and ideas. The fifth chapter comprises sources and appendices.
