Industry in the Ilkhanid Mongolian Era 656-736 HA/ 1258-1335 AD
Main Article Content
Abstract
In 1251/649 AD, the Mongols initiated preparations to occupy Iraq and depose the Abbasid caliphate in Baghdad, according to a plan formulated by Mankukhan. Following the occupation of Baghdad and other Iraqi cities, Iraq's political and economic autonomy was relinquished, and it was subsequently incorporated into the expansive Ilkhanid state.
Despite the gravity of the Mongol occupation, industry constituted a significant component of the economic pursuits of the populace, alongside agriculture and commerce. The present study centers on the predominant industries in Iraq and Iran during the reign of the Ilkhanate state. Similarly, the production of glass, paper, and other industries thrived under the Ilkhanid regime. The adopted methodology involved an analytical approach that entailed presenting and scrutinizing texts, as well as tracing historical occurrences chronologically.
