Abstract

The ancient Maghreb region knew many religious practices that were associated with the sanctification and worship of natural manifestations, such as water (rain), stones, mountains, caves, grottoes, plants, animals and others. In addition to the worship of official deities like other ancient peoples, and with time the development of ancient Maghreb religious thinking To a more mature and developed stage, the ancient Maghreb man took from the various manifestations of nature deities, and made of them idols that he sanctified and worshiped, begged for them in his sorrows and thanked her in his joys.


        The ancient Moroccan man was also open to other religious currents, eastern or western, and accordingly the large number of pagan gods who sanctified them, where he established a place of worship for her great status among their local gods.


         In this study, we want to shed light on the most prominent aspects of nature, which the ancient Maghreb sanctified, and which he chose to hold his first ritual ceremonies, in addition to identifying the most important religious currents - eastern or western - coming to the ancient Maghreb.
