Abstract

The current research aims to identify the impact of the PECS strategy on the achievement of middle-grade first graders in the subject of reading and their positive thinking. The research sample consisted of (66 students), and the sample was divided into two groups randomly, and the researchers rewarded between the two research groups in some variables (the time age is calculated by months, the previous achievement of students, the Danleys IQ test, positive thinking). For the purpose of achieving the aim of the research, the researcher prepared an achievement test consisting of (40 items) of the multiple choice type, and the researcher confirmed his sincerity and consistency, the difficulty factor of his paragraphs and the strength of his distinction, and the effectiveness of his incorrect alternatives, As for the second tool, it was represented by the scale of positive thinking, as the scale consisted of (35) paragraphs and the researcher verified the coefficient of difficulty and discriminatory strength for him, while applying the research tools to the two research groups, extracting data and analyzing them, the researchers reached the superiority of the experimental group students who studied the reading subject according to a strategy PECS on the control group students who studied according to the usual method, and in light of the research results the researchers came out with a set of recommendations, proposals and recommendations.
