Abstract

Extracting the authentic Arab taste represents one of the most important pillars of the reflexive discourse in the scholarly project (Muhammad Mahmoud Shaker), that unique project with which Abu Fahr faced the Orientalist threat to our culture, literature and history, as the idea of authentic taste occupies a serious test with which we can discern the eligibility of those involved In the culture and heritage of the nation from the orientalists first, and those who follow them from among the Arabs, since Arab culture faces a threat from within, not from outside only. The issue of suspicion in pre-Islamic poetry was - and still is - one of the most dangerous issues on Arab identity, so the scholar Mahmoud Shaker confronted it as affecting the entity of the Islamic nation and that it included suspicion of the Holy Qur’an and the constants of Islam as well, and for this his speech contained authenticity as an attempt to counter this idea. Which has begun to penetrate into the body of contemporary Arab culture, otherwise Arab ideas have adopted it, which followed in the footsteps of the Orientalists.The nation faces in every age a campaign that threatens its identity and tries to destabilize its constants, and this is why the Orientalist threat to the nation’s entity reminds Abu Fahr of the populist danger in ancient times, and perhaps this explains for us the approach of the issue of taste in Abu Fahr to the idea of (the statement) in Al-Jahiz. And then he summons it and at the same time he calls for us to adopt it in order to regain our lost identity.
