Semantic Approach to Translating the Arabic Various Plurals of One Word into English

Abstract
This paper is considered a semantic approach to render the forms of plural of one word from Arabic into English .It also sheds some light on the main reasons behind pluralizing the one word into many forms of plural , for example , the word (عين ) can be pluralized into ( ( عيون and ( أعين) . Since English dictionaries do not give appropriate renderings to such forms of plural , the researcher starts to look up for the hidden meanings to clarify the different meanings which may be misunderstood by most of translators . Finally , the researcher found out , through searching the semantic and rhetorical books of Arabic , that the word ( عيون ) means ' the springs of water ' whereas the word ( أعين ) points out to ' the eyes of human beings ' .In addition , he identified that Quran used the word ( عيون) eight times , all of them refer to ' the springs of water ' , and also utilized the word ( أعين) nineteen times to mean ' the eyes of human beings '.In fact , these meanings deserve to be tackled in a single study to enable translators to avoid making mistakes and producing wrong translations .
