Main Article Content
Abstract
This study aims to examine the history of the Ottoman-Austrian’s conflict over Hungary during (1682-1699 AD). This conflict was intensified between the Ottoman Empire and the Roman Empire during the seventeenth century AD. The importance of this period springs from the fact of the Ottoman’s retreat and the loss of most of Hungary’s lands in favor of Austria. A European power that was affiliated with the Roman Empire, and that the Ottoman Empire did not force the inhabitants of Hungary to enter the Islamic religion, but they had the freedom to do so. The research dealt with an introduction, three axes and a conclusion. As for the conclusion, it came as a deductive outcome of the important events contained in the research. 1. The second siege of Vienna in 1682 AD was considered one of the most powerful historical events in the seventeenth century AD, and this event sounded the alarm bell in Europe, which made the countries of Europe urgently meet and unite against the Ottoman armies, which, if they managed to bring down Vienna, would only stop at Central Europe. 2. It was found through this study that the main goal is to send a strong message from the Ottoman Empire that is still strong and able to reach any land it wants in the future. 3. The results of the second siege of Vienna were counterproductive to the Ottoman state, after the movement of disobedience and rebellion and the removal of the Ottoman Sultan on the throne, and the great readiness of the Austrian armies.
