Abstract

The aim of the current research is to identify the level of psychological and social support among students of the Department of Special Education as well as areas of support and its relationship to gender variables (male-female), and to achieve this, the psychological and social support tool prepared by the researcher. The sample is consisted of (100) students selected by the method. The simple randomization of the research community, and it included (24) paragraphs divided into five-year alternatives, which are (strongly agree, agree, neutral, reject, strongly reject) as well as three areas of support (family, relatives, friends, the academic institution). It was approved by presenting it to a number of arbitrators and experts in the field of educational, psychological and special education sciences. As for consistency, it was found by a re-test method, where the stability reached (0.73). The data was processed statistically using the statistical program SPSS, and the results showed that the most important sources of psychological and social support preferred by the students of the Special Education Department, and according to importance, are (the family in the first place), then followed by (the academic institution, then friends) and then (relatives in the last rank), while the results showed There are statistically significant differences according to the gender variable (male-female) and in favor of females, and in light of the results of the study, the researcher presented a set of recommendations and suggestion
