Emotional Intelligence and Its Relationship to Psychological Well-being among University Students

Abstract
The study aimed to identify the emotional intelligence and its relationship with the psychological well-being of university students, as well as to know the differences of statistical significance for emotional intelligence and psychological well-being according to the gender variable (male-female). The researcher prepared a tool (to measure emotional intelligence), consisting of (42) items. The scale was applied after ensuring the validity and consistency of a sample of (150) male and female students from Tikrit University, after randomly selecting them from a number of colleges. The researcher also prepared a tool (to measure psychological well-being), and the number of its paragraphs was (49). The questionnaire was applied after ensuring the validity and consistency of a sample of (150) male and female students from Tikrit University, and after collecting and analyzing data, it was concluded in the results of the study that students have a level of emotional intelligence as well as a good level of psychological well-being, and there is a direct relationship between Emotional intelligence and psychological well-being. In light of the results of the research, a number of recommendations and proposals were presented.
