The position of the Gulf Cooperation Council on the Lebanese crisis (2003-2008)
Main Article Content
Abstract
The beginning of the crisis of the Lebanese political system was the issuance of Resolution No. (1559) by the Security Council, which ruled that Syria must leave Lebanon and disarm the resistance, which resulted in a major political crisis in Lebanon. The Gulf Cooperation Council’s position on the political crisis in Lebanon depends on all measures that urge the prevention of violence and the policy of assassinations. He also urged the Gulf Cooperation Council to return to dialogue, considering it an effective tool to solve any problems between the forces, to criticize in the same context the language that produced the controversy between the parties , And that the solution lies in gathering around the same table. It is clear that the Arab Union on the issue of the Lebanese crisis and held conferences until the Doha summit brought out the crisis, and this indicates that the Arabs are not in need of foreign intervention to solve their problems, but they lack union with each other, and consensus in visions and ideas and unifying the positions taken on any issue, and the beneficiary The only one from any disagreement between the Arabs will be (Israel), and (Israel) tries to use every opportunity to increase the gap between the Arabs and each other.
