The Relationship between Investment in Desert Areas for Tourism and the Available Potential Using Statistical Analysis in Salah al-Din Governorate

Abstract
Tourism is one of the fastest-growing economic sectors in the world, and natural resources are one of the most prominent factors attracting tourists, known as nature tourism. This study sheds light on the potential of desert tourism in Salah al-Din Governorate, a region with significant natural resources that can effectively contribute to economic, social, and environmental development. The study aims to highlight the importance of nature tourism, particularly desert tourism, and its role in stimulating the local economy by analyzing the natural and human characteristics of the study area and examining its suitability for various tourism activities. The results of the analysis showed that Salah al-Din Governorate contains diverse natural resources suitable for tourism activities, which are ideal for setting up camps, practicing hunting sports, exploring, and various tourism activities. The study also highlighted the need to develop development and investment plans aimed at developing tourism infrastructure and services, and enhancing environmental awareness among local residents. This would achieve sustainable tourism development that contributes to improving the economic and social reality of the region, providing new job opportunities, and encouraging local and foreign investment in the tourism sector.
