Abstract

Self-concealment  is a behavior that hinders psychological well-being, impacts relationships, limits personal growth, and contributes to the emergence of many psychological problems and increases anxiety and stress. In psychology, individuals sometimes choose to hide certain aspects of themselves in order not to upset others.

Self-concealment is described in psychology as a form of repression or psychological inhibition, meaning maintaining the privacy of important experiences such as emotions, feelings, and various behaviors.
