Abstract

The research aims to identify the effect of the personal teaching system (Keller Plan) on the achievement of second-year intermediate students in acquiring Islamic concepts and developing their critical thinking. In this research, the quasi-experimental method was used, and an achievement exam consisting of (20) exam-type items was prepared and its validity and reliability were demonstrated. The research sample consisted of 60 students from the second intermediate grade from Al-Nabigha Al-Dhubyani Secondary School, who were chosen intentionally and randomly assigned.

The first experimental group consisted of 30 students who were taught Islamic concepts using the Keller plan in the personal teaching system, and the second control group consisted of 30 students who were taught Islamic concepts in the usual traditional method. The results of the research showed that there was an impact of the Keller plan on students’ achievement within the levels analysis, synthesis, and evaluation and the development of critical thinking for the benefit of the experimental group.
