Taala Kurdish Association 1918-1920: A Historical Study
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Kurdish- majority areas of eastern Turkey witnessed many events during the period (1918, 1920) and political developments that affected the entire economic, social and political life. political organisations emerged in the form of associations such as Taala Kurdish Association, which role was limited at the beginning of its formation in a sense that it did not play a tangible role in political life. The establishment of associations was for the purpose of organising political work and communicating with the Allied countries, their establishment was also an expression of the Kurds’ discontent and resentment of the Federalists ‘policy. At first, their discontent appeared in the form of uprisings in many areas that were under the control of the Unionists, but its limited activity enabled the Kemalists to control some of its members and restrict Its activity.
