Linguistic Changes in Contemporary Arabic Dialects: An Analytical Study
Main Article Content
Abstract
This study offers an overview of how both contemporary and traditional Arabic academics have viewed the idea of dialects and the development of Standard Arabic (Fus'ha). It talks about the dialectal characteristics in Standard Arabic sentence structure (Fus'ha) and the opinions of academics on the link between Standard Arabic and its dialects. The study comes to the conclusion that studying ancient dialects is difficult at the present time since there is so much linguistic data accessible that it is not very helpful in this area. This problem stems from the fact that, in spite of their important contributions to language, ancient Arabic intellectuals paid little attention to dialects and only sometimes mentioned them in their writings.
