Abstract
It can be said that the real beginning of journalism in Sudan was with the beginnings of British colonization there. This was represented by the appearance of the Sudanese newspaper in 1904, which came via Egypt, and at the hands of foreigners loyal to British rule. The role of foreigners continued in the emergence of journalism in Sudan, so newspapers appeared on The hand of the Greeks in Sudan, such as the SUDAN HERALD, produced an Arabic version, “Sudan Pioneer,” and opened the door for Sudanese writers, and the name of Hussein Sharif, the first Sudanese journalist, appeared in it.The creation of the Sudan newspaper was preceded by newspaper forms, which cannot be considered newspapers in the scientific sense of a newspaper, because the concept of the newspaper that appeared before the appearance of the Sudan newspaper does not apply to this concept, and the Mahdiya publications in 1885 we do not consider them to be a type of newspaper, as they are statements promoting the idea of Mahdism. At the beginning of the call, then the views of the Mahdist leader. With the end of the Mahdi’s reign and the transfer of the reins of power to the so-called British-Egyptian dual rule state, a number of official publications were issued, but they did not apply to the conventional definition of a newspaper. Among the most important of these publications were “Halfa Journal and Dongola News” 1896, and Al-Ghazitah 1899, and the phrase was About official publications that are not circulated by the general public.
