Abstract

The study deals with map modeling of land for the sake of changing its usage during the years 1970 - 2022 in Dujail. The study aims  to identify the optimal methods of land's modeled maps,  to find out whether geographical factors affect these usages and what is their time-space  reality during the years (1970 - 2022). The study, furthermore, aimed to identify the change in land usage so as to establish a  beneficial geographical database. Changing and building cartographic models simulate the spatial and temporal change of land usage in the study area. The study concluded that all types of land usages witnessed development at different levels, except for agricultural usage, which witnessed a noticeable decline during the periods that the study went through. It was also proven through the study that cartographic and three-dimensional representation of maps has an important role in understanding and perceiving maps compared to the traditional method. The study proved the effectiveness of geographic information systems programs and techniques of data representation leads to geographical production of all types of maps.
