Abstract

The research highlights Al-Luzumiyat, an Andalusian maqamat written by Al-Saraqusti, which deals with Eastern issue represented by an Andalusian character. The most important questions tackled in this research are: whom does Maqamat address, and what was the reason for writing the Andalusian Maqamat. The research is divided into two sections.  Section one discusses Al-Saraqosti and the obligatory Maqamat.  Section two tackles the idea of the implicit reader these Maqamat address.
