Abstract

Bahrain has held significant historical significance due to its role in exporting valuable commodities such as gold, precious stones, ivory, wood, and incense to Iraq. These goods were imported from India and Bahrain served as the primary gateway for the Al-Ahsa region and onward to Najd. The only available port in the eastern coast of the Arabian Peninsula was Al-Uqair, which was unsuitable for navigation due to its shallow waters. This further emphasized the strategic importance of Bahrain's location in facilitating commercial transportation.

The selection of Bahrain may be attributed to its strategic positioning between the Shatt al-Arab in the north and Muscat in the south, which allows it to effectively gather information on the majority of the Gulf areas. The advancement of education in Bahrain, along with its integration of women, has significantly influenced their active participation in society. This progress has been facilitated by the establishment of women's associations, which have served as powerful platforms for women to engage in various social and political endeavors. Her cultural and social consciousness, along with her active and prominent involvement in associations, as well as her social achievements, fueled her growing ambition for political engagement. This ambition was inspired by the resurgence of Arab women, particularly in Egypt, and she channeled it into organizing women's efforts by fostering collaboration among women's associations to advocate for their political rights.
