Abstract

The United States deals with the Middle East region according to its needs and interests that require imposing the reality of stability in the region، just as the permanent tension in it is one of the requirements of the Cold War with the former Soviet Union، so stability in it is one of the basic requirements to devote its ability to dominate the world and impose its conditions on its main allies in the Middle East. Europe and the Middle East alike.

Iraq represents، according to regional security standards، the most important pillars. Rather، it is the most important balancing factor، without which or in case of weakness the security system will witness an imbalance in the equations of Arab، regional and international security alike، which has happened and may continue in the absence of the Iraqi role since the US occupation 2003 and the continuation of the policy of weakening it. And with what the conflicting tracks have produced، sometimes with regional security interests or Iraq's self-interests on the other hand، such as the dilemmas of the Palestinian cause or the swing between Iran، the United States and the Arab League.

The former Soviet Union and the Eastern Group، in the era of bilateral equilibrium، were one of the alternatives for some Arab countries، including Iraq، to reduce the area of Western hegemony. However، it is not possible to resolve the ongoing conflict in the Middle East، nor to determine the side of profit and loss in it، neither from the international poles nor from the regional actors، as it is an open conflict in temporally، spatially and qualitatively، that is، it is a type of historical conflict that can determine the shape of the region and the formation of its societies for the coming decades.

This research is an attempt to find out the geopolitical options available to Iraq in this complex battlefield.
