Abstract

The competent connectives have functional values represented by referring to the explicit noun. So, it replaces it and its compensates in order to seek linguistic economy behind which the speaker wants to reduce muscle effort and ward off boredom from the listener, because repeating the explicit noun without compensating it with an element of the referential elements bequeaths boredom to the recipient and therefore he will not interact with the verbal process, and the relative conjunctions are among the referential means that replace the explicit noun, and the function of the specialized relative is not limited to the referral alone, but rather it creates a conceptual link between the relative clause after it and the defined noun to which it refers. It has the relative clause, and one of the important functions performed by the specialized relative in the communication process is to describe the noun defined by the relative clause, after you know the relative clause and prepare it to be an adjective of the defined noun located before the connecting noun, it performs the defining function as (the) defining, just as (the ) defines the indefinite singular, the competent relative defines the relative clause after it, and thus the specialized relative conducts effective functions in the communication process because it replaces the direct noun and refers to it and defines the relative clause after it and then prepares it to describe the accusative noun located before the relative noun
