Abstract

We may imagine that the novel was created with individual diligence and has no basis in the social life of individuals, and this is a wrong perception, because the novel is a complex structure that may clearly depict the daily relationship of individuals (the protagonists of the novel) and their different and complex relationship with society and the lives of those around them. It is the one that shows the reality of man and shows the lack of authenticity of the human being. If we know that there are those who believe that the author is no less important than the sociologist, and may even surpass him in stages in many cases, by virtue of the delicate sensitivity that he possess, as well as his ability to seize the details of social life, putting the psyche of his characters under a microscope, and to track the stages of social changes and their repercussions on values, behavior and attitudes. To what extent was the Iraqi novel able to monitor social representation in Iraq? And what led that coherent system of social representation to collapse? All of this we will review in this research, which will be taken from novels published after the repeated wars on Iraq as material for it and these novels are:

1- The novel (The Tobacco Keeper) by Ali Badr.

2- The novel (The Triangle of Death) by Ali Laftah Saeed.

3- The novel (Killers) by Diaa Al-Khalidi
