The Image of Women In The Poetry Of Layla Al-Akhiliya
Main Article Content
Abstract
The poetic role of Arab woman continued to be highlighted in the literary arena in general, and in the poetic one in particular. She was the focus of Arab poets’ attention, the source of their knowledge, and the vessel of their culture. The poets began to be clearly influenced by the new religious meanings, in addition to their adherence to the values of society approved by Islam, and some of them were refined.
The veteran poet, including the poetess Layla al-Akhiliya, in the shadow of this development, relied on Islamic values, she expressed in her poetry her position in life and through her poetic texts she tackled the features of personal and literary experience in the shadow of Islamic perception. There is no doubt that this vision of the veteran poets was reflected for them since long time ago through ancient Arab heritage which was Arab man’s weapon that rooted him and deepened his roots. This study aims to stand on the image of women in the poetry of Laila al-Akhiliya and to highlight her impact through her poetry, which achieved a high degree of artistic depth and contributed to the service of the poetic experience. It also aims to shed light on the poetess and her trends within the poetic text
