Main Article Content
Abstract
One of the recent matters that has arisen currently and has not occurred before as a result of technology, the expansion of cities and their plenty of mosques what is so called Al athan al markzi (central calling to prayer) or Al athan al mwhad (unified calling to prayer). It is found in many Islamic countries and it differs from what it is known as the recorded athan (recorded calling to prayer). The present study titled "Central Athan: A juridical study” stems from notion of interacting within the recent trend issues, dealing with the development in technology and science as well as presenting the juridical opinion. It answers the following questions:
- Does the central calling to prayer oppose the Islamic law or compatible with its purposes?
- Will the central calling to prayer contribute to find an answer to the discrepancy of calling to prayer times of some mosques within the same spot?
- Will the central calling to prayer be a solution for the shortage and the incompetence of some Muzzens (callers to prayer?
I adapted the description approach for conceptualizing the central calling to prayer and revealing its essence; and I adapted the analytical approach for the analysis of jurists’ sayings and revealing the trend case.
