Ships and their types in the Islamic Maghreb
Main Article Content
Abstract
The Muslims in Morocco were interested in maritime navigation, and assigned its task to individuals who were experienced and knowledgeable in sea matters. And others. Therefore, the role of the shipbuilding industry has spread in several places of education, such as the House of Industry in Tunis, and the House of Industry in Mahdia, in Bejaia, and the House of Industry in Tripoli, among other industrial houses. Ships and boats are called by several names, some of the according to their shape, others according to their use, and some of them carry goods or cargo. The governors of Morocco had the great merit in establishing this naval fleet because they needed it in order to complete the operations of the Islamic conquest of cities, especially through navigation, in order to spread the Islamic religion, and to raise the word of religion around the globe. Clever and creative at the time.
