Abstract

Lexicographical Handling Sibawayh’s Lexicon

Dictionaries are containers of words, and the imams of the language took care of collecting them, and they were a rich source of language and interpretation sciences. Paying attention to words and their connotations is no less important than other sciences, as it is the foundation of these sciences as it is based on the meaning from which the grammatical derives its base and the morphological weight. Sibawayh's book has lexical treatments for the words contained in it, in addition to what the book contains of linguistics, grammar, morphology, eloquence and sound. I looked at the lexical material and found it not a small number. Then I selected words from them to search. The research method was a lexical study, inductive and descriptive approach, tending to analysis, as I cite Sibawayh's texts as they are, and analyze the words received from them related to the grammatical texts that Sibawayh mentioned, balancing the word that Sibawayh mentioned among the dictionaries of the dictionaries. The research plan included an introduction in which it stated the importance of the research and the reason for choosing it, the most prominent sources in the research, and then an introduction that Sibawayh and his approach to dealing with lexical words title, from the definition of Basibawayh, and his book, and the method of his treatment of lexical words, then the study’s selected words, then a conclusion with the most important results, then the sources and references are confirmed
