Climatic Requirements and Accumulative Heat Indicators for Yellow Corn in Hawija District
Main Article Content
Abstract
Climate is one of the most important natural factors affecting agricultural activity and the spatial distribution of agricultural crops on the surface of the Earth. The use of climate information and data and their application in the field of agriculture has a major impact on the success of agriculture and development in any country. The climatic conditions that affect agricultural crops lead to dividing crops into summer and winter crops, which depend on precise scientific foundations to follow and monitor the various climate elements and weather phenomena and know the degree of their connection and impact. On the crop at all stages and in all conditions. The effect of the accumulated heat and heat in general was clear on the productivity of the yellow corn crop in terms of quantity and quality, and the emergence of variation from year to year in the study area. In light of these climatic effects, the (climatic requirements and cumulative heat indicators of the yellow corn crop in the district) were studied, in terms of the astronomical location of the district. Hawija, it is located between longitudes (43 28 00) and (44 08 00) east, and between latitudes (34 52 57) and (35 30 52) north, with an area of (3713) km2. To achieve the goal of the study, data was relied upon. Climatic analysis of Kirkuk station for the period (1991-2022). Studies have shown that there is an increase in normal temperatures, minimum and maximum temperatures, and wind speed.
