Abstract

The research focused on studying climate changes and their effects on vegetation, specifically the occurrence of drought. By conducting a thorough statistical analysis of climatic elements, the study aimed to highlight the level of volatility and variation in these elements. Additionally, the research presented the changing values of climate elements over time through a time series analysis spanning from 2000 to 2020. The study revealed a significant shift in climatic elements and a rise in the number of drought years, as indicated by the analysis of satellite imagery from 2018, 2016, and 2008, along with the application of the vegetative difference index (NPVI). Furthermore, the researcher utilized the drought coefficient (Demarton) to assess the frequency of drought in all study stations, with a particularly high occurrence in the southern ones (60%).
